Beautiful obverse!
Rim ding and a number of "hits" in the field of the obverse.

Probably MS63

Don't think those are rim dings, those are in the slab.

I'm at ms66, nice looking coin.

MS-66? Really guys? I see too many dings for that

are you referring to what looks like rim dings? if so, almost certainly they are on the holder

HumblePie - always take the coin out of the holder when possible. it alters our assessment

I'm in the MS66 box as well. probably 65 but a TPG like PCGS love this kind of toning and would probably bump it

I always do that when I can. This quarter is in a PCGS rattler holder.

Weak strike. I think thats why there are AU comments. I do not see wear. Fair amount of nicks. Despite the great tone and look, PCGS can not grade above MS65 due to the strike. That's where I put this one, ms65

@captainkurt said "Weak strike. I think thats why there are AU comments." Actually a pretty compelling point (and I was one of the AUs). I was interpreting the light on the eagle's breast and the lower right corner of Washington's neck as wear but I could be convinced that's a highlight on the photo.

SO - when's the reveal?

Those second photos show a lot more detail in the breast feathers. Did this year have reverse due issues? The leaves still look weak but the tail feathers are strong. Being a 'rattler' maybe this could go to ms66

The deep toners always seem to get big grades at PCGS. Seen a ton of them.

Most of the time on the "Vs" Grading. The reveal will be no less than 24 hrs & up to 48 hrs, to give everyone a chance.

I say the toning pushed the PCGS wizards from MS65 to 66. Nice coin.
