Well, this coin has been re-plated, I initially thought that this could be a die crack, but I don't see it on the rim, so maybe not, unless it got covered by the plating process. Otherwise it could be a scratch

It was stored in the case but it could still be plated I have no doubts but can you still have minor spots on plated coins? I could take it to get checked out near me but is it worth it. Or is there another way to check for sure because I'm not seeing other ways and don't really want to play around with it if it's genuine. I have a nice coin that would have been in pristine condition other than my fingerprint on the obverse. When I first started I handled them in not the best way.

To check it out whether it has been plated or not is easy, that is why I asked for a photo of the edge. If it is shiny like the rest of the coin, then it has been plated. If it shows a steel core with a zinc layer on either side, then it is original.

This Coin is 1000% re-zinced.
It is not worth any premium, it is not worth driving to someone to check it out.

Found another on PCGS with the same mark by the c in cent but mine definitely looks plated over in that spot. It looks shinier that the one pictured which is genuine. It was a nice coin at one point.

I see a plated coin, that may have a die clash. If someone has an overlay.

I'm all-in on the OP's coin being replated. That is indeed a die clash as John mentioned. (the area at the base of Lincoln's head and neck)
The OP's clash and the second coin with the clash are similar but not the same. The clash is positioned differently around the C

Just a Wheat cent now. The alteration of the surface pretty much voids out premium for these. The coins should not have a sheen to them: The altered surfaces are not a plus for these coins.
