Thank you everyone for your contribution. I'm leaning towards AU-55 but I cannot complain when it's AU-58. I think I have got a decent deal when I paid this for $1350~ slabbed from a dealer.

Should I also contact NGC for their wrong info on the slab? It was labeled as 1907 instead of 1908-D . Does mislabeled slab carry a premium?
Attached link is a video to showcase its luster.

although graded 58, i'd say it would not be valued at that price with the weaker strike, number of hits and discoloration

Way too much for a mislabeled over Graded Coin in my personal opinion.
You can buy MS63 PCGS 1926 or 1932 for right around $1500.

The 1908-D no motto is a better date and should cost more than the 1926 and 1932. I think your price was pretty good.
Pretty major labeling mistake by NGC. Seems like they should pay you for the opportunity to correct the error!

Thank you. May I know how you come to the conclusion that it's properly graded? I'm just new to grading Indian eagle, especially that grading the No Motto series is different than the rest of Motto one. Happy Sunday!

Tintin02, there in no 100% accurate opinion when it comes to grading. It has been and always will be subjective. The best anyone can do is offer an educated opinion based upon experience. The consensus here is that 4 people think it grades AU-58 and 7 people think it grades AU-55 or lower. There is no correct answer, it is all in how you perceive it and more importantly how a future buyer may see it.

I see nothing wrong with the grade at AU-58. It has strong details, very few serious rim dings and pretty good luster. Gold coins are given a little leeway for minor scratches and bag marks because it is a soft metal. Yours is very nice IMO.

It shows Certified as a 1907 on their website also: https://www.ngccoin.com/certlookup/4311192-012/58/

That needs to be corrected through NGC. You can mark it as you being the owner and then have a nice conversation with them about correcting their mistake.

However, does the slab look like it's been opened at some time or another and someone slipped the 1908 D into the 1907 holder? If not, it remains a boo-boo! Your coin is what shows up on NGC.

My immediate thoughts were AU58, before I saw other comments. You did well with what you paid for sure.
