Over the past few weeks I have taken the coin to several reputable coin shops I know well and some I don't know just to get a gauge on what the reaction is when I show them.
The reaction is almost identical word for word. Like "Wow" this is an amazing piece! I ask does it look legit? Not one single shop said no. They said it was an authentic multi struck coin. Going as far as showing every detail why it is legit.
Then..... I toss the bodybag from PCGS on the counter and say it is a counterfeit according to PCGS.
One guy offered me 1k cash even after I showed the body bag. The offer still stands today, I kept it and plan on keeping it for now.
All the coin shops numismatic staff in a nutshell said PCGS messed up or just assumed it was and put counterfeit because I am a nobody to them and for their own political policies protection didn't really give it a good assessment, took the money. They said PCGS especially makes a lot of mistakes and bad calls. They favor the loyalists.
I am going to go to one more shop about an hour away to someone who's specialty is mint errors and see what his conclusion is.
All the shops but 2 were all PCGS authorized dealers or reputable experts in numismatics.
Once I contact Jon Sullivan and set up a time to meet him I will post his conclusion on it.
