I agree. It's unfortunate that your teller felt the need to rub her finds in your face. I find it really odd that her manager allows her to hoard the bills for months.

I would have talked to the branch manager or the head teller immediately. That teller was extremely rude and should have had the buy out privilege taken away from them.

I would have made sure that teller never forgot the day!

I agree, she should have sold them to you right then. Trust me, Bank of America has done enough to this country without having a teller act uppity.

Bring in a $100 bill and ask her for 50 singles and 25 $2 bills every day for the next month!

The nerve of this teller! She should have never showed you what she had. At the very least you found a new dump bank. Start ordering boxes of half dollars and make sure to dump every one of them at this bank.

Well at the bank that I work at and I would think it should be like this everywhere if a customer knows you have something in your drawer like you obviously did because she showed you and you ask for it then it's yours. I do buy coins and bills from my drawer. I've never had anything like that just wheaties and some serial numbers I think are neat and simple things but I buy them from my drawer right away. Actually I sell them to another teller then buy them from their drawer.

I went back a couple days ago. The teller claimed she bought them all up herself. She said that the brown seal note went for $500 on ebay. Hers is a NY Fed issue. She probably saw the Dallas issue, as I told her, but it was irrelevant. She oscillated between still "checking with her guy" to "keeping them for her grandkids." Fail.

She also threw in the fact that somebody brought in five '64 halves. Insult to injury. Thanks a lot, lady.

Congratulations on the establishment of a new dump bank!

sounds like a good dump bank to me, I'd take every half dollar you can get your hands on and take them straight to her line....even if there was nobody waiting in the other lines.

...and bring her a bunch of $1 notes with the corners torn off.
Ok, I shouldn't be mean, but golly that teller isn't very professional.

Walk in with $123.67 in loose pennies and ask for a certified check and make her count all the pennies out.

What a rude teller! She knew you'd be interested in that stuff after you asked. She didn't have to show it to you and then say you couldn't have it. Major tease! I'd just stay away from that bank if I were you, there's no need for that kind of kick in the pants.

During the early 60s my Mother worked at a bank as a teller.....and that is how I got most of my Silver Certificates that I have still today.
