My First Birthday Note!

If I got that note I would spend it. I would also write on it and fold it a few times before I spend it. You collect what you like, but this has 0 interest for me.

Birthday notes are like Littleton coins. Overpriced and mostly worth face value.

Thanks for your added info. The only issue is just that some people on the forums continue to say only something like 'Its a spender' on a lot of items they arent personally wanting to collect and therefore might leave the original posters with a wrong assumption that some notes have no value or interest to any collectors period and therefore are wrong to enjoy/keep them.

Thats the reason I post sometimes the added info as like what Joshu and I said, yes they may appeal only to a select few in some cases like a birthday note and therefore for some if they found that note they would spend it while others would keep it or desire it. I see these days people even collect and grade old VHS/BETAMAX/DVD/VIDEO GAMES/CARDS/MAGAZINES/RECORDS etc and I cant tell you how many others have zero interest, but theres value sometimes to consider in certain cases. I have zero interest in those lowball coins but others love em. To each their own and no need to put them down over it.




Another great point and forums like this can help introduce them to other areas they may not even yet know about.




Birthday notes as well as anniversary or some key date are most likely worth face value but have some meaning to a specific person while none to others. However dates can also have meaning to some event or person and for some that also adds value enough to buy over face. I do agree that generally they arent great investment items. Littleton appeals to casual collectors and has some interesting items (like the counterstamps) over the years, but if you are a regular collector I wouldnt use them as a main source for NEW items as their pricing tends to be higher than elsewhere.

Hi, I reread the thread and I dont see any personal attack when you calm down, only that some people here are not interested in some of the lower tier serial numbers. Keep in mind that these serial numbers like dates are special types and not really fancy serial numbers so generally have no set pricing for their value.

Maybe they will be of high demand and value if you find the right person/collector who is looking for a specific date like the anniversary/birthdays but to others of course those dates have no demand or value which is why you get some people to say just a spender. I was told a 6 of a kind is a spender as well because to some they are only interested in certain types, and so I just mentioned above that in some cases it still can have value at times even though they personally might not like to collect it themselves and maybe should point that out.
