MS63PL for the same reasons as numismatic student points out.

Can't guess what ANACs said -- maybe 65PL? -- but numismatic student's take seems right to me. The OBV on its own barely makes 62PL (or 62DMPL -- can never really tell from photos), but that reverse is way up in 66PL territory. Normally that would net out to at least 64, but the obverse hits degrade eye appeal. I'd guess 63PL

Thanks for the repllies. Judging by those, looks like ANACS "might" have under-graded this one a bit. I guess the pics could have been better also.

I think the over-grading rep was from years ago. For my submission early this year I felt most of them were graded 1-2 points low.

they really whacked that one for the obv. I agree they missed on this one. there is not enough marks/chatter etc on the obv to drop it to a 62

Think they're doing their best to rid themselves of the over grading rep and might be compensating too much. Saw a dealer on a recent Youtube video who had 4 out of 5 ANACS coins upgraded when submitted to PCGS

Yep, undergraded. I'd only bother to re-submit with a large batch of other coins, though.

A peek at the coin luster. Something I've not been able to capture in a photo

That coin seems way undergraded. Got to be at least 63PL - maybe 64PL. Just a beauty.

The cameo frost on this Morgan is exceptional and adds eye appeal. That same frost unfortunately makes the cheek and neck abrasions look more obvious. The 62 grade is pretty strict.

If it upgrades to a 63 is there a big value boost?

I have thought that I have had some coins undergrated when sent to Anacs. I had a thought that when a nicer coin was sent in for grading at one of the lower costs they were graded lower..

I'm going to have to agree with them.

That cheek is very distracting and no doubt knocked it down.

It may not be deep hits but a ton right in the focal point.
