In terms of single-coin Coinstar finds, this one takes the cake, I think... Congrats, Jaobler!

This is one of the best finds I've ever seen! Congratulations! You should post this in the CoinStar thread.

I agree, unbelievable, we need proof it wasn't a setup

Extremely rare find. I think we had another member find CoinStar gold, but it rarely happens. Big congrats. John1

You got the trophy right there! For everyone who looks in the coinstar machine for even a spit out old cent, this is ultimately the best find I've ever seen from a coinstar...congrats!

Thanks for all the comments. Referring to the very informative website ngccoin.com I learned this Netherlands 10-Gulden gold piece is a 1-year type coin with a huge mintage of 4,110,000. Weight is 6.729 grams, fineness is 90%, and actual gold content is 0.1947 troy ounces for a current melt value of $378.20. It carries no premium value over gold content unless it is in choice mint state. I guess it's not inconceivable that such a common coin could be dropped into somebody's change jar and end up at a CoinStar. Lucky for me! If I ever felt embarrassed about scavenging for change at a CoinStar I think I'm over it now!

Quote: It carries no premium value over gold content unless it is in choice mint state. Well yeah, it's pretty hard for numismatic value to outpace being a solid chunk of 21k gold.
