Those are some crazy colors coming through. Congrats.

Thanks again!!
Rubenstein- Annealing errors are unique to clad or nickel coinage so your cent probably has something else going on.
Coinfrog- I was thinking this might be worth a submission, we'll see.

If you turn it in for grading, please come back with a solution. I still have an issue as to why it appears gold instead of copper like the graded example one you posted.

Dearborn, here is another example. Again, from 2004, with a little less orange.

@ CoinHi, I get it when the coin look orange (Copper) that is due toto the improper annealing process that let the copper migrate to the surface. I just don't understand why yours is Gold in color and not coppery. Unless it is just the image not showing the copper color properly.

Dearborn & Cujohn, maybe the background color in the photo is making it appear more golden than it is. The coin is slightly underweight so it wouldn't make sense that it was plated which would likely make it slightly overweight.

Well it took awhile but I finally got this one certified from PCGS. I had to get this one graded since there was so much skepticism over the color. I never doubted that this coin was an annealing error, but I understand why folks did. The color is just too unique and the other "Black Beauty's" from this year don't look anything like it. I really enjoy these errors and am happy to own this very unique and early example. I am also happy to see I nailed the grade of MS62 in my first post thoughts.
