pretty decent strike for an 89(P). I've seen them detail coins for reeding especially in a key area like this. i'd go with MS63 with a little hit on value for the reeding. i'd say price is pretty decent for this coin

Im at ms-63, not sure whats going on around the neck area, rusted dies?
I've been collecting for a couple years... Favorite Coin's are Standing Liberty quarters, Working on my type set | Coffee, Corvettes, Coins & the CCF what could be better? |

63 due to the hard hit on the cheek. Those dies were awfully rusty and worn out.

One of the highest mintage Morgan dollars. I would also think the orange peel is a result of over-worked dies. I'm at MS63 and like the lip clashing. Check for a doubled ear when you get her. The price seems good. "Nummi rari mira sunt, si sumptus ferre potes." - Christophorus filius Scotiae

I know you don't generally care much about the varieties, but with the coin in hand, go to VamWorld and check out 1889 VAM-3a. The orange peel in front of the neck is a characteristic of that particular die. You should also see that some of the stars and, perhaps the date, appear to "sink" into the fields somewhat. If the markers match, that explains the "rusty" look.
It's a nice coin that would be close to a 64 if not for that unfortunate reeding hit on the cheek. Well-bought in my book.
