O.P. Duck,
You should definitely try to rule out foreign substance on your coin, as it's pretty common to
find that. 1 approach would be to soak coin in pure 100% acetone (the kind found at hardware store).
That would dissolve most types of clear glue, Clear finishes etc.

Thank you so much guys. I'll do as suggested and soak it in acetone and post an updated picture.

Thanks again...

Hello again. I soaked it in acetone as suggested by Tacc and posted an updated picture. (I got the acetone from an automotive paint supplier)

Thanks,

Duck

For me it is impressive.

Left of the bust, seem to be an dettached exfoliation strike.
The bust show clear dettached exfoliation. and holes in the head.

The most intrigue part it is the date. the 8 seem struck over exfoliation but the 3 it is incomplete. I can not explain my self how happened.

Maybe some one can have the answer, not me.

This one bothered me from day one but the new pic is much better. It looks like a lot of what is in the date area came from the bust. It was probably a fold over that held on long enough to become part of the coin again through circulation. Pretty cool!

This is a nice one. Congrats.
As others have said, that piece left of his shoulder seems to have come off the rim judging by the curve.

It does look like the edge of the 3 is on the part that has lifted slightly. Circulation seems to have affected the visibility of the 3 in that area.
