Yes, an exceptionally nice example of a "greasy ghost".

Tropicalbats, here's what a cent struck through (or brockaged by) a largely complete dropped filling looks like. I know of just one other example.

Wow. An amazing example Mike. Now I have a question about the coins struck directly before Mikes 1993 Memorial cent example. With that grease filling all of the dies devices, could a previously struck coin resemble a late brockage or would it be more of a uniface?

I guess I'll have to be a ghost to find a coin like that.

Petespockets asks, "Now I have a question about the coins struck directly before Mikes 1993 Memorial cent example. Answer: Cents struck before this layer of grease fell off the obverse die would appear as a heavy grease strike.

Thanks Mike for adding that. (Man, there wouldn't have been much detail left on the Greaser with so much detail on Mikes example.)

It's possible for a thin layer of grease to conform to the die's recesses. That would allow a full, but indistinct raised image to appear on the coin. Since a good deal of the raised reverse design bled though the dropped obverse filling on my specimen, I have to conclude that the layer of grease was relatively thin.
