I tracked down several other 106-a examples and none of them were even close to this late a die state. I was hoping to get the dealer down a bit more, but he was pretty solid after his first counter offer. Just too neat a variety to pass up.

crazy rev die breaks. its amazing that the die still held up. talk about getting every single press out of it they could VF35 details. I don't think the cleaning will give it a pass

I'll evaluate when it arrives. Thinking about TPG depending on inspection in hand.

I see you bought it from Rick Snow. That's a good sign. He has an eagle eye!

theres no doubt the coin was cleaned. it was quite a while back so the question would be would they give it a pass or not. I'm going to say VF35 probably gets a pass

It's VF+ and would probably straight grade because a lot of patina remains.

I love the epic die shattering on the reverse. This coin has character--great pick up!

Maybe. I just had this one come back from PCGS as "AU Details - Cleaned." I might send the dime to NGC for grading.

Reverse of that FEC would probably details it at NGC too.
