That scale says the coin weighs less than 5.2 grams; which, I'm pretty sure, is outside tolerance. Either there's a problem with your scale or the coin really is underweight.

What John1 said; coin is close to normal. factoring in circulation wear. Coin is a spender.

That scale says 5.16, not 5.76. If the scale is correct, that quarter is not anywhere near normal weight. Granted it doesn't look perfect, but it doesn't look very deteriorated either. So I would very much doubt that corrosion would be the cause.

The weight is well below acceptable tolerances. It was struck on a planchet derived from rolled-thin quarter dollar stock.
Error coin writer and researcher.

Nice find. Next time hold the coin by the sides so as not to leave finger prints on both obverse and reverse. Esp after eating little Debbie's nutty buddies. Also to the CCF |

Mike has spoken  But I would weigh it on a much better, newer scale,0.001 grams. I also don't think the cost of slabbing would outweigh the retail value of the error. John1  |
