MS64 atleast, I guess spike on neck is the VAM?. Very nice coin

weak rev strike for this year. I had it as a top end MS63. I'm ok with 64 on it

This coin came in today and it is absolutely gorgeous. The wine-colored toning is appealing even for someone like me who doesn't always appreciate toning. Quote: weak rev strike for this year. I had it as a top end MS63. I'm ok with 64 on it @panzaldi, I just saw your comment. Weak strike is characteristic of this variety. Both dies were crumbling and sinking when these Morgans came off the presses. You can see signs of die sinkage around the periphery of this coin on both sides manifesting as "pimples" adjacent to the denticles.
