Thanks!
I'd like to potentially get some of the older proof coins eventually, but they aren't cheap by any means.

I have a 1955 proof that I got that I didn't really like the way it looked, but I may just keep it. Not sure yet... Kind of hard to tell, but it has a personally unpleasant toning to it IMO:
Does not look bad to me, but as you said, may be difficult to tell.

I also have both the Type 1 and 2 1979 and 1981 varieties.
That would be my answer.

That 1955 nickel in the cello, just doesn't 'look' like a proof to me..

It kind of does, and also kind of doesn't. I have made it a point if I spend more money on a coin, and I'm not happy with it, it's being sent back. Five dollars and under? Eh, alright.

That's a beautiful coin, Dearborn! I'm jealous lol

I will definitely take a look. Thanks, Dearborn!

I did something stupid recently. Lol. I know, it's in my nature. I've sort of been jonesing to start a new Jefferson circulated set. I have two Dansco albums, one "BU" and one proof. However, as you guys might notice in some previous posts, I actually prefer using the business strike album because I like keeping the proofs separate and have them at the end of the album.

Wellll... I moved everything around into the proof only album. I don't like the way it looks. Lol.
I guess my weekend project will be moving everything back.
Now, one thing I will say, is the proof album seems to be slightly better quality and a bit thicker. Not sure why Dansco does this. They seem to have their outward folder part of their albums in all different thicknesses. Is that even a word? Lol.
I was also going to keep the blank page that I used for my proofs in the business strike album, and load them up with the 2006 and newer Jeffersons.... But honestly, I'm not gonna do that. Circulated, especially heavily circulated newer, redesigned Jeffersons are just so ugly in my opinion. It's a coin that I really don't like, which is why I stopped at 2005.

So I'm going to have an empty proof album. I think what I might do is just order two or three blank nickel pages and call it a day. I guess I could technically order another 7113 album. I don't know, I'll see what happens. jbuck seems to agree with me on the notion that I think it looks nicer having the proofs altogether.

Sounds like you have had some interesting times.

When I decided to break up my proof sets to fill the proof holes in my cent, quarter, and half dollar Dansco albums, I had to do something with the dimes and nickels. Those Dansco albums—7113 and 7125—did not have holes for proofs, so I added blank pages to hold just them. And yes, they look good together! So good that I continue the trend in my custom ultra-modern albums made with blank pages.

Yep! I definitely have.
Yeah, I recall you talking about using blank pages a lot.
What I'd like to do is get three extra pages for blank nickels, and add them to my 8113 album. The first two pages between the 8113 and the 7113 are identical since neither has additional spots for earlier proofs.

But geez! Ridiculous how much they are for them! Almost 20 dollars on Amazon a page! Get real! I could buy an entire album for that. I may have to hunt around a bit at coin stores.

Dansco production being shut down for so long did not help pricing at all.

Yes, they suffered the misfortunes of the pandemic and then got hit by flooding.

Stuff did not really start coming out again until later in 2022.
