I have some "junk silver" left over from my CRH days. I am contemplating taking it to the coin show next month and see what I can get for it. The last three holes are still looking to get filled.

The last three holes are still looking to get filled. I have those exact "last three holes" to fill myself. I've put off buying them for so many years just because there were so many other "cheaper" coins I could buy for the price of one of those coins. So, I kept completing sets, minus the big money key dates, and buying random U.S. constitutional and foreign silver whenever I could get my hands on it. I think this is a good time to consider trading in some junk silver to fill some holes.

Technically, I have the money for them. I just have not found what I want. Yet. But making a trade? Well, that would actually widen my reach! A trade gives some "added value" to the coins I am excluding by giving them a more personal story.

I agree that trading in your "esteemed collection of silver coins" may bring more value than selling or "getting rid of" your "junk silver"

very nice Marv - great looking car - when I was younger living in Hawaii, I had a 1978 Pontiac Trans-Am T-tops, 6.6 shaker, man that car was nice..
Someday I may get another one and rebuild it up..

To be clear... When I am spending money, I am very picky. But if I am trading junk silver, I can be less picky since the seller is willing to take the junk silver. I can then look at the acquired coin and say, "She may not be what I wanted to buy, but I was able to get her way cheaper because I traded some silver I found 30 years ago!"

I've had some decent luck picking up semi-key and key date WL halves in circulated condition. I've been trying to get them in certified condition. Depending on the coin, the condition is usually anywhere from G04 up to VG35 or so. My thought is some of these more rare half dollar dates may get caught up in the big silver melt. Maybe they will become even more valuable over time. Worse case, even if they stay rather stagnant, I'm always happy to add semi/key dates to my collection!

So do you guys think the numismatic premium för more common morgans like 1880 and 81 Will recover for xf and au range coins If silver stays above 100S?

That is exactly what I'm doing and why I'm back on this board. My wife is a put your pocket change in a album collector. I was buying cheap silver coins from auction when it dropped from 40+ to 20. She was able to fill 90% of her older silver dimes and quarters from that. Plus I bought her book 1 Walkers almost full. And had enough Walkers to fill most of book 2. But yeah, the key date were hard to justify. Also bought some gold and silver jewelry. Took in a .925 bracelet and 14k ring to my coin shop. Started with just the jewelry. Had the coins in a box where he could see them. Including my 5 oz ATB. He said he could give me more on the jewelry if he could get the coins to. I have sold $1 commems and he always dings me for them not being collectable. This time, he gave me $5 more per coin than I guessed. Almost melt. He used to have dozens of 5 oz ATBs. I didn't see one. So it is a sellers market. Last night I picked up three key date walkers. And a 32 D Wash. it seams like the key date prices are about the same. Even silver.
