Outstanding find. You can see that the devices near the rim didn't strike well because there wasn't enough metal and pressure to fill the dies.

Did you notice something unusual about the quarter visually? Or do you just weigh all your quarters?

@brandmeister at first I notice the sound. When it clinks agaainst another coin it sounded like a silver coin. Then the weight became obvious so I decided to buy the scale to weigh it.

I always shake a smal bunch of coins together before I look at them. To see if I hear a different clink.

A scale is probably as important to a coin collector as a multimeter is to an electronics tech. Money well spent.
