Are you thinking what I'm thinking? How about a "DB Cooper" caper with a parachute?

You know you're a coin collector when... The only thing you find interesting about $30,000,000 dollars is whether or not you can bag star notes and key dates :-)

Point of curiosity - what kind of security did they have during the loading process?

Exactly - What kind of security is around 30 million in cash? This was a commercial flight? Was the security on the flight as well? Can't you get into the cargo area from the flight deck? Sorry - A picture like that prompts alot of questions.

We used to move military payrolls in the late 70's via KC-135's (aerial refueling tankers) between Pacific sites. It wasn't unusual to load $5 or $6 million on a flight. We always put some schmuck Finance officer with a .38 sidearm on a the escort. He had to sign for the cargo and was totally responsible for it until someone took off his hands (officially or unofficially ). We never lost a dollar. The key was not to advertise the movement or commit to a set schedule.

As airline employees, we undergo several security checks prior to employment and prior to entering the "ramp". If you are escorted by "badged" individuals, then you can be out here. The airport authority escorted Dunbar Armored Transport on to the field, then right to our aircraft, and watched the loaders load every bag and seal the cargo door. Who's going to steal the $$ in the air, in the A/C cargo bin, and from point A to point B with Armored waiting down line? This is a weekly event for our Airline, not to mention, the safest way to transport that amount of $$. We transport extremely valuable items on a daily basis. Why would you want to transport this sum of money on the ground? Unless you are a fool. Quote: Sorry - A picture like that prompts alot of questions. That's fine. Not trying to convince anyone that we do this, just thought I'd share the picture Quote: I'm not a note collector so these didn't interest me at all That was humor by the way
