Maybe ebay should send all the losers trophies as well. You know, like in t-ball, God forbid people ever realize there are winners and losers in life.

Thanks to Moe and everyone for your support! I was looking back through some of his threads to see if there was anything else I might have said that set him off, and I'm still at a loss. I was half expecting to get an angry PM from telling me what's REALLY on his mind, but it never happened. I feel sorry for him that he would leave such an awesome forum over this....but what can you do? Live and let live.

I think maybe he lost a girlfriend to a dude named Johnny - so you're just doomed for being named Johnny.
In all reality - if you sit back and look at this little meltdown - its quite hilarious.

Looks like he actually did say something to get himself kicked off the forums. Oh well, don't think I'll be shedding a tear. If he thinks you and this forum are bad he's in for a rude awaking when he goes to some of the other coin forums out there!

I will ask, now that this off-topic episode is resolved, that if we continue this thread it be limited to the actual coin being discussed. It shines no pleasing light on any of us to dogpile a departed member.

So with these 1916 SLQ'S, are the diagnostic markers different on proof coins? Or are they they same? Also are there any reverse die markers to look for? -XoG

There are not any Standing Liberty quarters that are unquestionably proof. There are a few reports of pattern pieces and I think Walter Breen has made some claims about several 1917 examples being proofs; but little hard evidence that I'm aware of.

On regular 1916's are there any reverse markers to look for?

The reverse type 1 die is the same on the 1916 and 1917 I believe. So, you can only use the obverse to tell the difference.

All right, johnny, you win the argument. The analogy of the 1793 cent changed my mind. I have no hard feelings, I hope you don't against me either. Good luck! - coincrazed

Thanks Johnny! I'm sorry for being such a jerk. I finally get what you're talking about. Terror, there are no jerks on this forum as far as I can see. Are you from Treasurenet? Many of those ignorant slobs are jerks there. I got thrown off because I cursed a lot and I called them on something. The mods on there are foolish arrogant pigs as far as I'm concerned. Good luck! - coincrazed
