Any error on a State Quarter yields a much higher value than a similar error on a regular Washington quarter. Error dealer Fred Weinberg currently has some 1999/2000 State Quarters 10-12% OC listed for $125-135 while a regular quarter would be valued $10-20. Not that it matters much for the value but I would grade it MS-64/65, it is very nice

Edit: that is what I get for looking at errors when I am tired, I swear I thought half of UNITED was missing Conder is correct, the lettering is right at the edge but still full so it would be broadstruck and not off center. That would impact the value somewhat, probably worth around $50.

Congrats on the find, hope its the first of many errors to be found.
a bit of education is great too, with the smooth edge being the confirming factor, something to tuck in the back of my brain for the future I hope.
take care

Uncentered Broadstrike. Not off-center, none of the design is missing.

How does that affect the value Conder101? I am still learning the different types of errors, much less values!

Welcome to the forum.

That is a very nice looking and interesting coin. I have opened a couple hundred UNC rolls of state
quarters and and have not been lucky enough to find any errors like that.

Now trends for a broadstrike is $100, it says nothing about uncentered.
