look pass the little ding on the curve of the mm and look on the inside of the curve also look on the straight part of the mm. looks like a slanted line. to me, looks like a sort of sideways d on the d. I know the mm is put on the die at the same time rather than punched but just looks that way to me. what do you think.

good eye...im no dimer...it'll be interesting to hear if it's more than Die Deterioration.

I recently posted a Jefferson with a likeness of that D....die deterioration.

That's what it is - Die Deterioration. One of the clues is that the extra 'bulges' are parallel with the deep die flow lines in the area.
