#1. Details on #2 are not that much better to make up for the damage on the obverse.

First one for me. Eventually I would get a bit better one depending on what you are after but 1 is more of a keeper than 2 as far as I am concerned.

Normally I would say keep them both but with the damage to #2 I would get rid of it trade or sell.

Thanks ya'll. I need a few more to pick from :)

Not sure about the scratch Scooby. Didn't see it until I got to work and loaded the pic. I'll double check.

Ricardocody: These are both from my families old collection. I have no money in them, so letting them go will not be hard.

Are they both in the Fine category? I see cheekbone. Sorry I didn't ask for grade.

Why no keep both? I have about 15 VDB's in my collection. I have a grade set from MS-65 down to G. :)

BadThad, I was considering using one to get something else I needed or use both to get one in a better grade.

VF40-EF45
Both nice examples but the first one in more of a keeper.

Ricardocody, I don't know what your Morgan dollar looks like but
I'm guessing it is worth more than a 1909 vdb

Another vote for #1. It has a lot better eye appeal in my opinion. The damage on the second one is distracting.

I'd say the first is VF30 and the second is EF45 details.

Oh, that's a no brainer then. These are plentiful and cheap in higher grades. Unfortunately, the second coin is damaged and only worth about $10. The other is about a $13-14 coin. You can pick up a very nice AU for about $20. That'd be my choice.
