Northwest they are very cool.
Not a bad thing to collect at all.
As for me I'm focused on the Wheat penny
But mostly because of my roll searching luck.
I did actually find this gold quarter in a roll
I was searching.

I only buy 100 bucks in quarters a week and have been doing this
For a month and have never, not once found a quarter dated pre-1965.
I search penny and nickel rolls and things are going awesome!!
My Wheat penny collection is booming and the War Nickels are rolling in
But in terrible condition.

yeah...it seems like people on the forum are getting more luck with silver in dime rolls, do you find many Buffalo nickels? because I have been skunked for a while on those.

I got a 1929 S this week but my wife found it in her
Grocery store change. I did find a rust orange buffalo
But it was so terrible that I threw it back. There was no
Saving it. I tried vinegar for 2 weeks and it just got worse.

Northwest,
What is a counter stamped coin? Is it like the LMC I found with JFKs face stamped into it, facing Lincoln on the obverse? At any rate, I recently found two V nickels in the same box in different rolls. Not many War Nickels, though. Or Buffalos for that matter.

Timmy- a local coin dealer has the "gold" State Quarter set for sale each coin in its own air tite case all on display in a fancy maple box all for $100. I don't know for sure but I'm going to guess its not gold, 100 coins (P&D) plus the cases and box seems like it would be much more expensive if it was actual gold

I received a gold plated quarter as an "I'm sorry gift" from a guy on ebay after he accidentally shorted me a couple Mercury dimes a few years ago...

I spent it....It did not fit in my collection and thought it would be a cool seed to plant for a future young numismatist.

I find my share of gold half dollars. I thought about keeping them but now I just throw them back.. My guess is worth only face. I don't need to keep even more worthless junk.

I laugh every time that I see a gold plated quarter. They are not worth much more than face. They just look cool because they are plated with gold.
