I got a couple of rolls of OBW cents and saw a progression of chipping going on in the first bay. I have about eight of them, but edited them into a gif image. You might enjoy this?

That's what I'm talking about coop!

What year is that? I might have a later progression you could add to the mix if it's a 2003.

It was a 2008-P Roll. I was given two rolls from a friend a couple of years ago and just got around to them.

Coop you never cease to amaze me.That is so cool.I wonder how long it takes to progress like your time lapse shows.I mean how many coins were made from the first frame to the last frame?

It must progress fast to end up with all the examples in the same roll. Probablly one bins worth from the run that same day. (Which could be minutes to fill mint time.)

Not trying to hijack the OP thread .... however ... for coop ...

Amazing die chip progression show ... thanks for that indeed.

One detail is bugging me though ... notice the three bag hits visible on the right hand (#2) column?

They never move/change during the progression of the strike while the die chip grows from coin to coin.

Why is that?

I assume every coin picks up it's own unique bag hits on its way from the coining press to me ... so why does this one all appear to be static?

I think he only superimposed the chip progression. The die flow lines to the left don't change either.

David: The chipped area is the only area of the first photo that is left in tact. I added just the chips in the first bay. On a GIF image if I used the image of each photo, the color can vary from shot to shot and the movment of the image can be even the slightest, but yet looking like it was dancing. So I just imposed the differences of the first bay only on the original image. You can see color variations on the chip progression. Thanks for asking.

The one pictured I paid $14.00 The second one that I'm waiting on I paid $23.00 I'll probably never get my money back but then again I didn't buy them to resale.I bought them because I really liked them and For less than 40 bucks I have a matching pair of unique coins you don't see everyday.weather I over paid or not,I'm not sure but It cost more than 40 bucks just to fill up my car..When the time comes that I want to sell them I'd like to think I could them for more than I paid as a pair.If not that's okay too.I believe I'm going to really enjoy these two coins

I don't think you did too bad. $40 for the pair seems like a fair price to me.

I would say $40 is a reasonable price for matching Cuds of that size
