MD - Yes, if your 80 CC COA starts with 80, then it matches.

I agree with you on the dishonesty. What I did was send my raw 78 CC to NGC for grading and slabbing. Afterwards, I wanted a GSA box, not holder, and a 78 CC COA just to have. I did not submit them and holder all together to NGC under the pretext it was a GSA. Sorry for the confusion.

Jim, I just wrote in another post moments ago, that things can easily be taken OUT of context, and need this topic, because I DID NOT mean you, I did NOT intend for you to think I was directing my comments at you, I am sorry for the confusion and glad to know you, good luck, found some nice other 1880-CC and will inform you and others about the documentation included, I am also glad the COA I received apparently looks to be original also.........

I'm confused? I have been under the impression that the original issued GSA "Uncirculated Silver Dollar" came with an 1880CC COA, AND a smaller card explaining the "die varieties" or what is know today as VAM's. Observe the enlarged images of this item for sale on ebay.

That IS the kind of things I am speaking about, I feel the sale could only bolster the posistion of fraud/deceit.

I see your point, in the picture I did NOT receive the smaller card, I believe those were from another time frame in which these were sold......

Ham,

You're not confused, you understand correctly.

"I have been under the impression that the original issued GSA "Uncirculated Silver Dollar" came with an 1880CC COA, AND a smaller card explaining the "die varieties" ...

The 80 CC to my knowledge and what other 'experts' explained to me was the only one to have the smaller card due to the DD die varieties.

Hope this helps.

That sounds like a very plausible explanation.....I do know these Uncirculated Silver Dollars were offered up for sale more than the one time I also know that at one of those times the GSA, gave you a choice, a $30.00 coin, a $45.00 coin and a $60.00 coin, I am told you stood a better chance buying the $30.00 coins for they were a good chance at a better dated coin.

These for the first offering I believe was around 1965, which I was 10 and short on cash.......

Received the second GSA holder-ed 1880-CC Morgan, A beautiful MS 62 80/79 TYPE, I am amazed I actually got lucky and no one else scooped it up before me, I did NOT receive any original documentation with the coin, no numbered card that is, it is sealed and certified by NGC, just no box or cards, I need to ask the seller if it is available.......The coin is sweet!Vam 4, Nice overdate..

I will do my best, Macro is NOT all that with my SX120......I just played with my camera and I have a big problem with the glare from the holder...... I need an attachment for the stero-microscope...

Gene, You are so right, and thenk you, once you "learn that poem", you can do wonders with the acquired knowledge, I also contacted the auction site in which I won the GSA, and they do HAVE THE original box and both cards which came with the 1880-CC coin, coming to me, a home run!!
