If I have money in my pocket, it's time to buy!

If however, my pocket is empty, it's time to sit back and plan on what to buy when I do get something in my pocket.

At least that is the way it seems to work for me!

I sold nearly two rolls of silver quarters last night at a coin club meeting. But I will use the proceeds to buy more. So I say both.

Aside:
Of course, any transaction involves a buyer and a seller. So if one is able to buy, another must be willing to sell. Thus, it is obvious that "both" is the correct answer.

I'm with snowman. My coin budget used to be cigarette and beer money. Now that I don't do either one anymore I am better off and I really love collecting coins. I don't look at it as an investment in wealth as much as I look at it as an investment in health. It's also fun and enjoyable.

Checking the trends on kitco, it would appear that now is an excellent time to sell gold, not to buy it, assuming that we will see a correction similar to what happened around 1979-1980, when the price came down from another historic high. Here's the chart - http://www.kitco.com/scripts/hist_c...y_graphs.plx

My sentiments exactly!!!!

Today was time to buy.

I just cashed in my pocket change that has been accumulating, made a beeline (1 1/2 hour drive, each way) to my favorite coin shop(Fairfield's, Ft.Wayne IN) and dropped about $600 on coins and another $300 on a ring for the wife.

Next week will be time to sell.

After I exchange my old coins with my new coins, I will post a thread in the BST forum for my old coins.

Perhaps next week will be time to buy for a few of our members?

I cannot see a correction like we saw in the 80's . Not with the shaky economy.

Depends on what field you are talking about. If you are talking about US coins, well duh - it has been a bit too high for the past few years. On the other hand, Canadian, Russian, Korean, etc have been doing better than expectations and the prices are set to go even higher these few years.

Here is IMO a good investment, and for those of you who don't collect Canadian coins, but the 2006 1/2 oz wolf coin has been discontinued, see in Canadian forum as Crystalk has posted. As far as ebay is going ,the prices are still low,but will probably go higher once word gets out.A good investment, yet a beautiful coin to own in ones collection.

I will have to go with Old Dan and NDGOFLO on this one. Tomorrow I have to work in the coin shop AGAIN and I can't hardly wait. The only problem is actually getting paid to be there and leaving with any of that money. I always pray no one brings in Buffalo nickels while I am there as it tends to rob me of my earnings. I have seen some outstanding coins the last few times I worked and it took all the strength in my body to pass them up. But, the old Buffalo nickel seems to win out every time!
Working in a coin shop every now and then has to be the most rewarding part time job a guy could ever have! I know it is suffering on Saturday but someone has to do it!!!
