I see no reason why it wouldn't get a 62. It's possible for a 63 but it's hard to tell. I'm defiantly interested in others opinions.

I don't even know if PCGS will grade it at 62. I would probably try to see if it would cross before I went and broke it out to submit the coin to NGC or PCGS (well can't send it into NGC in the ANACS slab because they do not take any crossovers from any company but PCGS now). You may want to contact PCGS and see if they will allow you to send ANACS coins for crossover because they may not allow them either. If they don't I would probably just be happy where it is at now

Edit: I just looked it up at Numismedia and I may take a chance, if it drops down to MS-61 it only loses 20 bucks, if it does make it to MS-63 it will gain $250.00. If it comes back the same grade you will probably still gain some value because its in a PCGS slab instead of a ANACS slab

Bryan1315 your right. It might be worth it just one of those that I need to try my luck on.My other option was to break it out and submit it to ngc or pcgs.It is a pretty good gain to get 63 though.thanks.By the way you have a very nice type set.

edit.
It is definitely nice,i just noticed you had the gold page.wow.extremely tough set.

I recently had gold coins graded at NGC and I felt that they were very fair. It will probably cross over but I'm not sure if it will get a bump up. Definitely crack it out of the holder before you submit it. Good luck.

Sadly, the cheek mark will kill any shot at MS-65. It's up to the grader to determine if the mark is a Contact mark or post-mint damage mark, that's the real crux. IMO, you would very likely end with a 62, regardless of the TPG you choose.

i have to agree with you on that Tam,I think your right, thanks for your opinion,i might just keep it the way it is for now.The really bad thing about is if that mark wasnt there this coin has a huge shot at 64 in my opinion.looking at other coins graded 64.

if you are wanting to get it re-graded for sale (and I can't see any other reason to have it re-graded, because I would rather have a nice 62 than a dog 63 in my collection) and have a choice between NGC and PCGS I would go with PCGS because PCGS seems to bring more money when they are sold. Thanks for the comments on the 7070 album, I had high hopes for it when I started it and actually haven't touched (as far as buying other coins) for it in a few years now. The coins that are in there was actually put in there within about a year of starting the album and really figured it would have been finished by now but have had other things come up and haven't been able to get those last few coins to finish it off but hopefully I will stop seeing other coins I want and will finally finish this thing one day

Is this true? I have sent in various coins for crossover to PGCS and NGC over the years and they have crossed ANACS, PCI, ICG, and SEGS on occasion, although the PCI and SEGS coins typically dropped 1 grade notch in the process. Other times they refuse to cross, keep the fee, and offer no information about why the coins did not get into their holders.

I'll search the PGCS and NGC websites; presumably if this is now policy they have posted clearly defined rules about it.

Regarding the OP's coin: it looks like an easy MS-63 except for the scratch. I could see the top grade limited to 62 since the scratch appears pretty deep. It happens to be in the worst possible location and as such is very distracting.

Bryan1315 You make a very valid point.I will more than likely keep it the way it is.As far as your type set.please let me see it when its done if thats okay with you. That is definitely one of the most impressive type sets I've evere seen havent seen anyone complete the gold portion either except yours. Thanks for showing.
Junior e I think ill keep it the way it is because of the scratch on it.
Jaobler I am not sure of the policy at all.Sorry.Bryan1315 might be able to answer your question much better.
Yeah it is in the worst possible place it can be,and yes it is pretty deep.
Thank you very much for all the comments. It has helped.

Yes it's true, a few months ago NGC made the announcement that they would no longer do crossover service except for coins in PCGS slabs.

It may slide into a 63 holder but, as jaobler stated, PCGS and NGC would probably limit it to a 62 based on the cheek scratch. I would stick with ANACS again.
