I've searched through 134,160 nickels and I've found 2 43Ds. Nice find - that one is tough.

Nice find! Probably too worn to tell, but the '43-D has an RPM variety. 003, I think

Awesome find indeed from circulation.  As correctly pointed out above ... I am now at 250,800 nickels searched and still looking for that 1943-D.  I'll bestow a few dancing fruit for you.    David

Congrats on the great find! Its interesting that two people had their first War Nickel be the key one. I have to wonder what the odds of that are?

i have been looking for more ever since but no luck yet Never mind just looked through my change and found 2 more found a 1943-S and a 1945-S
