I gotta go VG-8; most of Sun's rays are gone, but date and IGWT pretty clear, so maybe G-4 obverse. Reverse a bit better, feathers in good shape, so might be VG-8. I'd say VG-8 overall. I thhink's WL's prior to this year were not as well-struck

Thats why I love threads like these, test your skills, see the results.

And yea, there is a G6. The in-between-er's (G-6, VG-10, XF45, etc) are for distinguishing that an example doesn't meet the criteria for a higher grade (usually not enough of a lettered portion or significant detail is intact), but is noticeably nicer than most examples in the lesser grade.

A good example of this is an XF-45. Generally these have noticeable luster and kick to them, but sadly have enough wear that it isn't considered AU. Usually these are loosely referred to by dealers (and ebay) as Choice XF or XF+.

I'm with hambone, I would have guessed VG8 but I wouldn't argue with G6 either.

I would have also guessed VG 8. these early issues are known for weak strikes.

I would have guessed G6. The reverse may be closer to VG8 but the obverse is no better than G6 so overall I think they were fair with it.
