1804 Draped Bust Dollar In Tripoli, Libya

Last week I got back from a fun trip to Libya. In the old town of Tripoli I came across this (obviously fake) 1804 dollar. This shop sold many real curiosities from North Africa, Europe, and beyond--I am guessing they had some real stuff from the WWII era, but yeah, this 1804 dollar ain't the best fake we've ever seen...

Do you have another image? That one causes the coin to appear egg shaped

The software I use requires a reasonably perpendicular photo taken from directly above a roughly round coin to produce meaningful results.

This was just a fun test to see which die in the dataset the coin most closely matches. If nothing matches with reasonable confidence, it simply gets classified as an unknown counterfeit and added to the review list.

The concept is similar to a die fingerprint database.

@Foamnone: I see. Sorry I didn't get a better photo. I was at an awkward angle, looking at the coin "facing away" from my in a display cabinet.
