Found this at the house and took it to a coin store to see what it was worth, guy there offered me $50. I had a feeling it mught be worth more but couldn't find much on line. Any help/info would be great.

The pics arent the best but I see full LIBERTY, and full shield lines on the eagles chest. Looks AU 58 Maybe MS 60 but we need better pics to determine.
IN that case worth a lot more than $50

Yea, I tried to get some good ones butI had to "resize them" figures it would be worth more than $50. I asked about sending it to be graded to the guy cause thats what one of the guys at work said.

I don't see any wear. Looks MS to me. Good for not selling it! Nice Barber.

Just to give you an idea, NumisMedia has this coin listed for $510 if it's an AU55. If it's MS, more like in the $600 range.
Good thing you didn't sell for $50. Always go with your instincts. =)

Looked at a few things under a miroscope cause someone asked me a question. There is no wear on the eagle feathers and liberty on the head band is very readable

At a minimum a high AU, but it looks MS. It is a good thing you decided not to sell it for $50.
Rest in Peace

Yeah, don't go back to that store ever again....he was trying to rip you off. That's worth a LOT more than $50...more like $500+

I think I see enough friction in the fields and over Liberty's portrait to rule out MS; I'd guess a strong AU-55. The first pictures suggest it might have been dipped and has retoned while the second set of images show a more natural look.

The value I think easily justifies sending the coin for grading.

It is hard to distinguish between AU and MS from those photos. I agree with the others that it is at minimum a high AU coin and worth a lot more than $50. I would send it in for grading.
