I'm having more than the usual trouble with this:
Japanese-Date-Check-|-Replica-Yen

It doesn't seem to fit the usual date format.

Thank you. Now, (with the benefit of 20/20 hindsight) it's obvious. I just didn't think that it was that old.
Now, is it real? Because it's very cheap.

Sorry, but it has all the hallmarks of the cheaper kind of Chinese replica: mushy crude details, "spray paint" toning, and a yellowish colour when scanned. If you weighed it, you will probably find that it comes out quite a bit below the 27 grams it's supposed to weigh.
