So here's the scoop, I found this coin in my moms jewelry. Box and saw 1776 on it, I asked her about it and she said she didn't know anything(she wouldn't even know the importance of that date)
I've done 3 hours of research now and realize its probably going to be fake, however, it is worth to much not to get it checked out.
For starters my coin is the one with currency spelt with one R. It does not have copy writen anywhere on it I don't know what Ind of metal it is I'm not good with knowing that kind of stuff, however, when I flip it, it does not sound like a thin coin that does the tingggg. I have not weighed it It does not seem to be made with two types of metal stack on each other

Genuine specimens were generally made out of pewter. I would bet my bottom dollar yours is one of the many cast copies that exist, some before the hobby protection act where copy was not required.
