You are on the right track, this one is almost as tricky as the Matte Proof Lincoln that was posted earlier this week!

And here is the Slabbed coin. I kind of figured it would get the details grade when I purchased this one. I did give a good acetone bath before it went to ANACS, helped a lot, it looked like a rubber band had been wrapped around the coin for a long time, as some of the surface crud looked like bits of old dried rubber that had adhered to the surface of the coin.

I graded it MS61/62 Details due to surface issues.



Also for those interested in VAM 11 here are some close ups of what to look for on the reverse, this example is a TOP 100 variety called "Lines in Wings." Caused by gouges from an engraving tool on this reverse die.

Oops, I think I messed up and put the close up photos from a different coin than the one you were grading, the lines in wing shots are of one I have in a GSA holder not from this ANACS one.

For the slab photos, I am running the jepg compression at the highest compression level, it leaves only 10% quality to keep the files small, The large photos are pretty accurate representations of the actual coin IMO, the whole slab photos I shoot, not so much, no color correction made or time spent in processing the photo. Just a quick shoot and move on to the next coin. I'm going to have to re-shoot a bunch of whole slabs, because I was working so fast and not even looking at the photos on screen as I shot, a bunch of them my hand is making a shadow over the label! I think I shot about 150 coins in one sitting, the close ups and by the time I repositioned my camera to get the whole slab I was tired and just wanted to finish the shooting, guess I was in too much of a hurry, all the close up coin shots for the most part look pretty darn good.

Wasn't to unhappy as long as this coin got at least an MS grade from ANACS, I knew the details would be on the label, it was my first cherry pick of a VAM 11. I did not have one yet, so I was hunting and the price was right, the variety was not mentioned, I bought this coin off ebay, from really poorly focused small photos by the seller. The price was right, $147.00!

I think ANACS grades most or all there detail or problem coins at MS60.
