I am sitting on a quite a few of these and was going to sell a few to start coin roll hunting again.

So I was thinking of starting out with $250.

How many Peace dollars would I have to sell to get this much cash?

all of my dollars are XF -AU problem free original surfaces; with that being said, I would like a few of your opinions on how much I can expect to get from the coins I have (pictures can be provided)

Thanks

Right now on ebay it's about $30 to $32 for common 22',23',24',25',26', less if damaged, more for XF-AU.
For the higher common date coins 27',28',34',35',it seems to be more $33-$35 each.
21',34s',28p are more of course.
There are always exceptions depending on time of day, # of feedback etc.etc. but you can plan on at least $30 minimum.
So to get $250 I would say 8-9.

thanks BLUEZONE

i was thinking of trying tel sell these here on CCF. I did not want to deal with the fees of paypal and ebay.

do you still think I can expect the same here? of do you think I would have to lower the price for CCF?

In my opinion most of these guys are looking to flip so you might not get quite as much. They also may have their own favorite spots to pick some up closer to spot but considering you would loose 10% on EBAY/PAYPAL in fees you could still come out ahead on here.
I paid $35 for an XF 35' from throwbackid
I wish you had a few I need but I believe you already checked.
If your happy at $30 try PIN and see what happens.

I saw your listing and believe a pic would help. Even an obverse group shot would be better than no pic. Circulated, common-date Peace dollars usually carry a slight premium to melt (5%-10%). You would almost certainly get some bites at $28/ea.

Best of Luck!

if it were me I would start an auction and start it at $27-$28 a piece and maybe a PIN at $30.00 a piece. Someone may hit the PIN just so they are sure they get them, especially someone that is a Peace dollar VAM collector. I think right now the spot price is $26.00 a piece so you definitely should not accept any lower than that

Here is a site I use to get pretty accurate and up to date pricing for buy and sell pricing on all bullion coins. Might just help out, they seem to have pretty good buy prices, I've never used them for selling or buying however, so not any recomendation, though they do have some really nice collector coins at times.

http://www.scpm.com/bullion.php

I've been tempted to call on a couple type coins they have put up just never did.

Today they are selling VG+ Peace dollars for $32.00/each since the markets have gone crazy the past few months they have been listing only CALL for buy pricing, which I think is the right thing to do, many bullion dealers will pay a bit more if you are selling a quantity, more than 100 dollars or $500 in 90% face, but it must be over that, anything under generally costs you a dollar or two per coin.

I would probably buy a couple for my son's collection at $28. If ebay is at $30 and 10% fees, that puts you a buck ahead each. I gotta think they'd move pretty fast at $28.

i also want to add that I DID not check these for VAMS! I'm being completely honest. so you have a good chance of getting a VAM or 2. now, there are mostly, 22=p, 23=p, but I know I have some 22-ds, 23-d, 26s, I forget, I'm lazy right now and dont want to look. lol.

ok so no one bought at the $30/coin that I was looking for.

from a seller's perspective, what can I EXPECT to get from the sale of Peace dollars? I have heard some say, break it up into smaller lots, individually, etc.

now, if I did go the route of ebay, how much would I stand to lose/gain including fees, paypal, etc vs trying to sell here on CCF.

i guess what I am trying to get at is what would the monetary difference be if I tried selling them on ebay for $30/coin+ fees, as opposed to here on CCF - what price would I need to sell them here at CCF? $26, $28/coin? does that make sense?

Heres what you can expect on ebay.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lot-6-BU-Pe...ht_500wt_948
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Roll-20-Cir..._5144wt_1167
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1923-P-SILV...t_500wt_1182
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Peace-Dolla...t_500wt_1182

Just a few examples but it looks to me like you could still come away with $30 each after fees. And silver is up today over $35 as I write this.

anywhere from 30-$36 + fess. so after the fees, how much do you think these people still made? vs selling here on ccf which I feel I will only be able to get $26-$28 per coin

Account for 9% ebay and 2.9% PayPal.
$30*11.9%=$3.57 in fees.
$30-$3.57=$26.43

$35*11.9%=$4.16 in fees.
$35-$4.16=$30.84

This doesn't account for shipping and handling fees which can be added to the auction price or separated and passed on to the buyer.

SD, I'm not sure what limitations you have as far as pics and time but if you look at the third link down I provided it is a common 23p and it sold for $33 plus $2 shipping. If it were me I would take the best ones you have and sell on ebay individually like the 23p did. Make sure your auctions end in the evening to get the most out of them. Then maybe group 4 or 5 of the lesser grade coins together as lots and sell them that way. I'm sure you will make more than selling them here for $26-$28. But it will be more hassel mailing individual packages.
So whats your time worth? Maybe $20 difference on 10 coins.

I would be interested in buying one from each year you have at $29.00/each.
