Ummm, hopefully, these two coins aren't quite as controversial as a couple of my previous purchases! (*yikes*)

Yah, I am still trembling from yesterday, so I'm planning-on steering away from the ol' high-end ancient Greek coins for a while, until I verify if I got boned on that/those coin(s) or not => my fingers are crossed!

Anyway => on the brighter-side, I am still having an absolute riot surfing around on ebay, flpping through the pages of a few of my newly purchased ancient coin books, and pulling the trigger on a few pretty coins (yes, I admit that these may end-up being the coins that I look back upon and wonder "what was I thinkin'?") ...

Regardless => I'm having an awesome time throwing myself head-first into the deep-end of the coin-pool!

Here are two new ponies in stevex6's stable (apparently it was ELAGABALUS day!):

COIN #1:
Antioch, Syria - Elagabalus - AR Tetradrachm, 219-220 AD.
Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right. / Eagle standing facing on ground line, head left, holding wreath in beak; D - E on either side, star between legs.
Composition:
AR, weight: 12.80 gm. diameter: 26 mm

COIN #2:
Elagabalus - Roman Emperor: 218-222 A.D. -
Silver Denarius 20mm (2.54 grams) Rome mint: 219 A.D.
Reference: RIC 19, S 7529
IMPANTONINVSAVG - Laureate, draped bust right.
PMTRPIICOSIIPP - Fortuna seated left, holding rudder on globe and cornucopia; wheel under chair

=> oh my => after yesterday's show-down, it's a bit like I'm daring the lion to only lick my face!

Better to get help here than be swimming with the sharks on eBay--and there are many.

Thanks jessvc1 ... yah, me too => the Eagle-reverse-Tetradrachm ELAGABALUS was actually half the price of the Denarius ELAGABALUS, but I also think "the eagle" is now one of my favorite coins (NOTE => but geesh, that Denarius is also a super-sweet coin so I'm glad that I bought them both) ...

=> although => now "ELAGABALUS" is my first and only "double" ... hey, but both coins are sooo different, right?

Thanks again for your comments, everybody! (for the record, stevex6 did "not" buy any coins today) ... that's a

Now comes the hardest part--the wait. I get shipments from NorthAmerica in about a week, and Europe is averaging 2 weeks.
