For 5c 2012 you will find 3 types of K in the initials on the reverse side. These are the normal K (not illustrated), the three leg K (1), and the broken K (2).

This error was produced on the master hub, during the fabrication of the working dies. The master hub got damaged and produced a working die(s) with a three leg K. The damaged part fell out to create broken K working dies.

My small sample of 5c 2012 nickels indicates that both the normal K and three leg K are rarer than broken K.

That is a very keen observation. Reverse 1 looks to be a triple punch. Reverse 2 looks like a die break.
All the ones I have looked at are normal. Only time will tell just how rare your triple punch are.

I've only got one 2012 5c but it seems to have only a partial die break -- a "thin leg" variety, if you will. As a bit of interest it also has 2 tiny die cracks off the 2nd "A" in "Canada", and a tiny die chip or bit of extra metal on the front leg of the "R" in "Regina" on the obverse. My photographic skills are next to zip but if I can get my ever-lovin' daughter to help me out I'll post a pic or two.
