The Mrs & I have been looking/noodling trying to find 1 of these SOB's for about 20 years & not one. I congratulate those who have found them ( good onya's ) but this particular coin has frustrated us for many years,i'll probably end up buying 1 if I win lotto or something.

Quote: Of course both coins look authentic. I was never questioning this in the first place. No worries Squire Wilson - just my lack of confidence showing. This is the first time I have shown my Wavy 20 to anyone at all (no coin fanatics in my area that I know of) and for a year now I have worried that I was mistaken in my assessment of it, based on internet research. And because I am a relative coin newbie, who really didn't know diddly squat at the time of identifying it, I could easily have been enraptured with a PMD instead of the real thing. Phew, glad to see it gets the tick of approval.

awildeheart. When I found my "wavy" last year I was also worried about its authenticity. So I took it to a reputable coin dealer who verified it for me. Of course, that was before I joined the "Coin Community Family" . Now you have the experts on this forum giving you the "thumbs up" Squire

I have taken some photos of the obverse (as requested) Still figuring out the best way to get photos. I used a bright LED torch for lighting as that seemed to help with focus. It is interesting how differently the photos turned out when all that was different was the direction of the light (from the side or top), and the angle from horizontal (more straight on, or side on) Direct light seems more harsh and more angled light seems to show the details of the coin better.

Nice work/ I have found two (in diff ways) and my heart still skips a beat when I look at them in the folder :-) (First by noodling and the second I got in change when I came here on work and then took back home to Scotland to put in a tub to be looked at 14 years later). I am taking a break from noodling just now as I am looking for a job and have bought a metal detector! Diggity dig dig....

It is funny, when I was looking through 20c before I had no expectations of ever finding a wavy. When Isaw "1966" there was no reaction... Now when I see "1966" my brain goes "What if its a wavy?!"... Just setting myself up for disappointment every time now!
