This coin appears to be similar to Y-334 (1 chiao) and Y-335 (2 chiao) but it doesn't match either. The top inscription is the same as both of these. The bottom inscription is closer to the 1 chiao but the second character from the right looks like the character for number 5 rather then the number 10. The characters within the wreath are more like the 2 chiao (the top character looks the same but instead of 3 characters there are only 2). I found a listing on ebay.uk that seems to match it but it is described as "CHINA 1926 silver 20 cents NGC MS61 Pu Yi wedding L&M-82 Y-335 VERY RARE" Found the L&M is "Illustrated Catalog of Chinese Gold & Silver, Lin Gwo Ming & Ma Tak Wo." Is this a pattern or what? The coin is silver. Sorry about the poor quality scan. It is one I made over 10 years ago when scan resolutionm was not like today. Where did you find your descriptions for #334 and #335? They may not be reliable. I just checked the numista website where both of those coins are listed. You can supersize the picture for #335 and it looks like a match for your coin. Numista has a lot of contributed content so I don't 100% trust it for rare Chinese coins. But in this case they attribute the picture to Heritage Auctions, which is a lot more trustworthy. I think it is free to sign up for Heritage and you can search their auction results to double check and see how much it sold for. . . Hope this helps and keep us posted, -wheatiefan

It's a 20 cent coin - probably need a better photo first to compare it to before making any further speculation.

The description that I gave is from the 2012 Krause SCWC from their pictures. Also found the match to the SCWC picture at NGC ( http://www.ngccoin.com/poplookup/Wo...inid=123041)which I attached to this note. The bottom inscription and the value in the wreath are totally different so there must be two distinct varieties of the 20 cent piece?

Here's the 2012 SCWC listing: Perhaps someone who can read Chinese can translate the differences in the legebd and the denomination.

My guess is that the legend on my coin means something like 5 equals 1 Yuan or somesuch as I see the 5, the 1, and what looks like the character for Yuan.

I still don't understand what you are trying to illustrate here, numismatist6. If you are trying to show your coin is the same as the rare coin from Shandong province, it can't happen.
I can say with confidence that Krause is clearly wrong. Krause isn't 100% foolproof either.

I don't know anything about a Shandung coin. Mine is silver and is at variance with the Krause image of KM-335. That's all I'm saying. I'm trying to find out why my coin which is the same as many others listed at KM-335 doesn't match the Krause or the NGC picture for KM-335. If Krause and NGC is wrong, so be it! Here's the NGC on it:
