Tried to collect one of each that features the Russian Tsars / Tsarinas. Much easier said than done to be honest - give it a shot if you think it's doable.

Just missing three but all of them are pricy in any condition - Peter II, Ivan III and Alexander II.

Yes, I could just change it and feature coins that were struck under different eras but that's too easy - big mistake.

Maybe you got coins that I don't have out of those three? Hope you like it.

Impressive collection, even with a forgery.

The motto on Paul's ruble caught my attention, I had to find some reading on it.

Very nice collection of rubles!
I had a pretty good start on these but I sold them off several years ago to help pay for my oldest daughter's college tuition. Then the prices spiked much higher and they all but disappeared from the market.

I've heard somewhere that some wire coins of Ivan IV and Boris Godunov (and possibly some other pre-1700 rulers) are supposed to have respective portraits... I'm not sure though if they're actual portraits or just terminology
Other than that: incredible set... like all of your other sets in fact.

Oh, and sorry for a bit of off-topic but I, while looking at your copper sets, just had to check my humble one-copeck type set (all of 22 coins, many of them Imperial - well 23 but I've lost one really tiny silver so don't count it) to see how many of mine you're missing... the answer is apparently two (groups 14 and 17 Ð'-а - my idea of "type" is similar to your set's "group", except that I distinguish different rulers if it's visible on the design as in groups 8 and 17). (I'm missing only one of yours though (group 5): five or so others I'm also missing you don't have either - probably because they're too rare - and at least one (the Siberian) is completely missing from your set in the first place. I'm ignoring any silver issues for obvious reasons, and AFAICT I have all post-1922.)

Please feel free to show your collection january1may.

Thanks for reminding me to update my site - I in fact have two more 1 kopek coins to add there. They are the Baroque kopek and the wings down 1 kopek. The later issues don't interest me but I suppose I can get them soon as they are quite reasonable in prices compared to the earlier issues...

t360: I'm sure you can obtain the coins any time as long as you got the money. However, your daughter's education is priceless as it will enable her to have a future that she will look forward to especially in an era of world's depressed economy. I still thank my parents for letting me go to university as this led me to the industry that I really working in.
