Yeah, if I did get it graded, I think I would go with NGC. I would become an ANA member, and then be able to submit coins.

If NGC is acceptable, ANA is a true bargain especially considering its' other benefits.

I'm glad I held off until now. That coin is a beauty. I'll agree with Dave that I'd throw $250 at that coin any day, and maybe more in a drunken PL induced stupor!

Vam-3? Doubled Nine.

There is probably no added value, just trying to improve my "Vamming" skills.

Have a look that close at the mint mark, just to be sure, but I think you have the obverse nailed.

Wow, it is very difficult trying to take pictures of Mint marks.

It's a little shaky, but I got it.

Yeah, given the incompleteness of the available information, I think I'd settle on VAM-3 for this one. I don't see any S/S, and a filled S mint mark is a common-enough thing that no mention in the description is not a red flag.

Wow, great coin. I would never have guessed it from the original scans that you posted. The coin looked artificial in those. Looked at your youtube also, it's a stunner, congratulations.

1879-S Morgan silver dollar, graded MS-65PL.

Did you send it to NGC or hold off and send it to PCGS to have it graded?

No, I never did get the coin graded mainly because of the cost.

Thanks, I was really happy with the coin when I received it. (And still am)

I also meant to post these pictures a while ago, but it slipped my mind.
