qbvbsite Pillar of the Community Canada 849 Posts	Posted 10/29/2012 7:56 pm Hey, I bought the following 2 notes UNC which I believe are UNC since they only each have 1 slight bend which I believe is a counting mark. But I was wondering what these were and if they effect grade. secoinedchance Valued Member Canada 449 Posts	Posted 10/29/2012 8:06 pm I know that one of the security features of the '73 $50 was that the ink would leave a smear if you rubbed it against another, let say, apiece of paper. Baanos Valued Member Canada 290 Posts	Posted 10/29/2012 8:53 pm It can definitely affect the grade. Now, on its own a smudge won't affect it very much. I highly doubt it will make a note drop from UNC to About UNC, but I can see how it can lose at least one point on the Sheldon numerical scale. Instead of being a 66/70 for example, the smudge could make it a 65/70. I'm not saying that your note is s 66 or a 65 though, I'm just giving an example. Report this Post to the Staff
