I was checking out the new BIN on ebay and came across this listing and bought it: http://www.ebay.com/itm/28105843328....m1497.l2649I looked at the seller's store and and the description and looks this was intended to be an auction and the other Morgans for sale are all BIN. It looks like an error but better check it isn't a fake. I am expecting a cancellation request soon. I checked the value of an XF Morgan on Numismedia and it says it is worth $258. I wonder if they meant to do it as an auction? Nice snag if they actually ship it

I just recently became interested in Morgan dollars. I bought one locally, and just purchased one from ebay the other day. I don't have a good eye for the better fakes, but I hope it is authentic. Usually any Morgans get bid up over $30, from what I've seen. If everything is good with that one, you just got one sweet deal!

Yes, it talks about in the description how the "auction is started with a token bid". I am looking at their items and they have many expensive coins at auction like Gold Indians and Saints. along with BU common morgans BIN for around $50 or more.

He doesn't have to ship and you can't leave a negative feedback. Obviously, he more than likely made a big mistake and mistakes happen. If he sends you the coin, let us know. That would be a sweetheart of a deal. If not, look at this from his eyes.

An obvious mistake on the seller's part. I personally would not hold it against him if he backed out. If he does honor his mistake and ships the coin kudos to him. Let us know....

Yes, I wonder what they are going to do in this situation. I know that people on the boards, this one and others state that if they made a mistake, they would send the coin anyhow and take the hit. Of course it is much easier to say that when the situation didn't happen to them. If it did, they would consider not shipping it and refunding the money. You can send a cancellation request but the buyer could refuse it. When I bid on that I thought it was a common Morgan worth $30-$40 didn't realize it was a semi-key. I would of course like it if this coin was sent but if he wanted to back out, I would consider letting him off the hook for a more common Morgan so he wouldn't be out much.

I am sure if it was me and I told people on some discussion boards that I didn't ship the item, I would hear how unethical I was not to since ebay sales are a binding contract. Of course like I mentioned it is easy just to post whatever when the situation never happened to someone. I know I and others who proclaimed that they would send the coin no matter how low the price was would consider not shipping the coin. I don't know about the leaving feedback though, from what I heard from ebay support, I have the right to leave feedback.

You are correct. It is the seller who can't leave the negative. If he decides not to ship maybe you guys could reach some middle ground. More for him but still a sweet deal for you. I guess it boils down to how bad you want the coin. And this is all a moot point if he ships the coin. Best of luck.

Free advertising and a couple of good references from the CCF may have just increased their traffic flow!
I know it worked for me, gotta check out 'em out when I get to the house.

I would still leave him positive feedback even if he don't ship it. You got to put yourself in his place. But nice buy though, lol.

If I was the seller, I'd ask buyer's permission to cancel the deal. If I was the buyer, I'd probably wait till such request arrives, and accept it, as it was obviously a mistake.
However, if the seller would ship the coins without addressing the buyer, then I'd probably just right a real positive feedback.
