This large frosted silver medal by W.Wyon was produced for the Reopening of the Royal Exchange in 1844. He incorporated some amazing detail particularly on the obverse.

Diameter of 74mm. It has remained untoned because it was "slabbed" at issue under a pair of glass lunettes between a silver ring.

That is an excellent looking medal. Some of the engraving work in medals is truly beautiful.

Great photo and great medal.

Nice to see a delicate touch of color(toning) in the neck collar.

A comparison with another Wyon medal in silver (28mm) for the same 1842 event.
