Hi everynumismatist First of all I was inspired by this thread https://goccf.com/t/115851 and I certainly don't want to compete with that thread, in fact I'll continue to spend dollar coins as well. It just occurred to me that I spend dozens of two dollar bills compared to only a dollar coin or two here and there, like if the total is $8.79 so I spend 4 2's and a sacagawea, instead of spending 5 2's(I'm weird like that I only spend sacagaweas not presidentials don't ask me why ). Anywho, I don't believe a dollar coin can be successful w/o a successful 2 dollar bill. It just simply makes life easier. Why 25k instead of 100k? well, I'm impatient Anywho the rules are the same as for the circulating dollar coin & half dollar thread, just record the face value you spent, what you spent it on, and subtract it from the previous posters total. Share a story if you can this is supposed to be fun. Often cashiers have never seen or rarely see two dollar bills. The reactions from different people are often hilarious. And check out the project 100k as well if you don't already spend dollar coins and jfk halves. I'll start $16 on groceries $6 on ice cream $2 on graph paper $8 on soft pretzels $24,968.00 to go

Right now, I am concentrating on the "Project 100k" you linked. The $2 bills I had were spent at/for the January F.U.N. show. Next time I get dollar coins from the bank, I will ask about $2 bills.

Cool fuzzy I hope to get a strap of new federal reserve bank of Minneapolis $2 bills to spend before I move. For the meantime though I'll continue spending mixed circulated bills.

The brass arcade token $1 coins are an eyesore, but I'm a big $2 bill fan and spend them regularly.

I hate seeing you do this alone, so I am tempted to get some two dollar notes from the CU. I always get them from my mother-in-law on my birthday and for Christmas. Can I retroactively post where I spent the last batch back in January?

Awesome, it would be great to have some help Quote:I always get them from my mother-in-law on my birthday and for Christmas. Can I retroactively post where I spent the last batch back in January? I don't see why you can't retrospectively post them as they are relatively recent, as long as you know how much you spent

My bank never has any, so I order 100 at a time. I used to get nice crisp new bills, but lately they have been rumpled and very used. Use them every Sunday as part of a tip at breakfast, and use them in casinos to tip the drink girls. They sure remember you.

Went and bought a sub today and threw in a ratted up $2 bill in the mix of cash. That thing didn't even make it into the register before one of the employees whipped out his wallet to trade it out with two $1's. I got a kick out of that.
