I can think of one person who might have been able to collect them all, Louis Eliasberg. Problem is, he's deceased now. He is the only person who has ever assembled an entire collection of US coins. Yes, this included the 1913 Liberty nickel, 1804 silver dollar, 1873-CC no arrows dime, etc. The collection was broken up in 1996 in one of the most famous coin auctions of all time.

Why is that impossible? I have over 22,000 different pieces. (not including bulk material.)

Because some coins only have five types or sometimes just one and they are saying to collect all of the types with varieties included and that is kind of impossible unless you make a couple million a year and have the time to look for each coin. But Attempt it and you might accomplish it but it's good to have a dream

If I remember correctly, graceoutcast. Your actual goal IS to collect them all!

I agree that ebay doesn't have a clue what they are talking about regarding collecting coins but it is one heck of a goal. Grace, I will be laughing at myself right along side you. a complete US set is my goal too. I'm just wondering how much money I will save not going for top pops. I my not end up with the prettiest sets but it will be fun to try. If I stay away from gold coins I may not have to refinance the house that many times.

Not even Close FL I want every single US coin ever made and every single different KM# for every coin ever minted. That's not too much to ask right?

I'll settle for one of each circulating KM# post-1900 for starters. Then add to that complete year/mintmark sets of US and Canadian pennies, nickels and dimes, the Statehood Quarter series, all of Canada's commemorative quarters, loonies and toonies, and the British predecimal pennies. I've got enough "fronts' to battle for right now, I just try to keep things within reason. At least I'm staying away from banknotes (got about 12-15 so far) and NCLT (got none). At least I'm staying away for now. LOL
