Wow, so many levels of cotton-headed ninny muggins (censored by myself), it would be hard to know where to start.

I e-mailed the seller letting him/her know that they they have made an error. Now maybe they will kill the auction and re-list it properly. Mike

I think "stupid" and "moron" are pretty strong.

I think its more like "lazy" or "ignorant".

I mailed him again suggesting he may want to purchase a copy of the 2008 Red Book of U.S. coins and do some research before listing more stuff. I think the person is really not aware of what they are selling. The auctions are not going to make them more money the way they are presented. I wonder if they will respond to the advice? Mike

What is more stupid foolish,...the Susan B. Anthony part or the metal alligator clip digging its claws into the coin.

Hi Graceoutcast. It was me, not Bobby that edited the title. I think Ron White's bit is hilarious, but I don't think we need to call someone stupid if we don't know the facts of behind the persons abilities. Mike

Well folks, we have all done foolish things at least I know I have! My approach is to first point out the mistakes and suggest a way to correct them, rather than criticize. I know it takes more time but it can be more productive. I agree that the listings, the alligator clip etc. are awful to look at but to me it just means the person needs to educate himself. That was my suggestion by e-mail to the person. Mike

Actually changing a title without grammatical or other error that described something in a way intended by the author is not "editing."

It's called censoring.

I realize it's done all the time, but we really should call it by its proper name.

I will also refrain from using the M-word henceforth and will switch to "cotton-headed ninny muggins."

i have done countless silly things when I sell first time at ebay but had corrected it when I got knowledge to do so.

what I can say about the seller is that he/she is likely not an ignorant about coins.

know what he/she is doing however they opted one wrong way.

it's just an opinion.

Whatever it's called, personal attacks will always be dealt with, intentional or not, because our members appreciate it. I could dig up dozens more threads like this too.

graceoutcast - I know there was no malice involved whatsoever. However being in the title like that, it could be construed as a personal attack by a new user or "lurker" and that's not the impression we want to give. Know what I mean?
