Its in an airtight. I bought it for $35 at a store where they had it graded EF. Altough the guy was quite off, he had a F-15 graded 1858 20 cent for $65 but I only graded it as a VG-10, ended up buying that too. The frosting seen in the picture is actually just weird light and there is none on the coin itself. I'm not sure if its polished but many of the surface marks you see are infact on the capsule and there are very little surface marks on the coin especially the obverse. So perhaps smoothed?
Btw the coin is very lustrous on both sides kind of what I see on my MS68DCAM Jefferson nickels.
@Sel_69l: As far as wear on the beard is concerned I'm not an expert on these dollars but I compared it to others graded by NGC as MS+ and cannot see any difference, perhaps just the light or a slightly weak strike, then?
I think I see a wear patch on the beard, just in front of the ear lobe of the King. Interesting. The band of the crown, just above the ear, does not seem to exhibit ANY wear. Full orb at the top of the crown. This point is normally quite sensitive to wear.
