You can inspect tons of FBL Franklins (plus just about any other coin you like) on the Heritage Auctions website. You can join for free and that gives you access to all their archived images from previous auctions. Here's one of their photos showing the bell lines on a 1948-D Franklin graded MS65FBL by PCGS. Metalman Pillar of the Community United States 7123 Posts	Posted 06/17/2007 3:20 pm You can also look at the reverse of most proofs they will exhibit full bell lines ,, although they only count on Business strike coins the proofs give a good representation of what to look for . There is a pretty big price difference between 64 and 65 on the fbl Franklins if my memory serves me. I don't have any of my books with me right now. Sounds like it is a keeper though. SeatedNut Pillar of the Community United States 2797 Posts	Posted 06/19/2007 07:47 am FBL designation is deemed not necessary by TPG's for proof coins because of the minting process assures all have FBLs. NGC requires that both sets of bell lines (upper and lower) be clear and unbroken. PCGS only requires the lower lines to be clear and unbroken. 8 Report this Post to the Staff
